Weird part is haven't seen any similar reports for this (yet) and given you have re-installed
Are you able to connect the monitor any way but with the HDMI cable ?
Just something else to check, there has been blackscreen issues with HDMI on occasions with drivers, but why just tython is weird.
I'd have to go out and buy a new monitor cable special for that.

Its the only other thing apart from roll back to prior to crimson
Maybe try the hotfix driver here closest I could find similar was here

Rolling back the driver did not solve the problem.

Apart from changing the connection method of the monitor
Press the Windows key + R and type
%localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings
go into the settings folder , identify the file with that characters name and delete it , then go into the GUIProfiles folder and also delete the UI profile for that character , should be defaulted with that characters name.
Go back to the settings folder and cut the client_settings file out to the desktop , on the next launch it will create a fresh one with defaults , see if any of this makes any difference.
If you didn't delete all the existing files when re-installing go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor
and delete the file called diskcachearena , this is the games cachefile.
