If the game has been run once on that PC the folders will exist , easiest is to do the below
Press the [Windows] Key + [R] at the same time
Copy the following in to the text box and press ok
%localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings
I have run the game on that laptop cause that's how I know the game is too dark but it is strange, after entering my credentials the game gets stuck on a black screen until I go to task manager and then return. Regardless, that SWTOR file cannot be found either by going there manually or by searching with win+r shortcut not to mention I wouldn't be able to see the appdata folder unless the hidden files box was checked.
I may just reinstall to see if that fixes anything.

This has been seen before on a particular driver version with Nvidia Mobility Drivers , changing version used was the answer , by memory it was an older driver that sorted this issue, but thought this was fixed with later drivers.
Gamma issues are also usually fixable outside in-game settings
Post a dxdiag per here so can make informed suggestions.
Re-install will have no affect on current game settings, maybe the dxdiag will give me an idea of why you cant see the folders.
