play button grays out but game doesn't launch?
i've tried everything can anyone tell me why the play button just grays out and doesn't start the game? i've looked online but i can't seem to find anything to help.

Some have found they have needed to install the legacy directx https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35
otherwise install the game via steam that will also install any missing support packages
