guess that could be the problem. is there a way to manually add the missing certs?

I need to go as its near 11pm here , I am trying to get one of the CS to check the certs they have installed for comparison , will not be able to respond until tomorrow unfortunately

Windows 7 should auto update certs so it is strange

no big deal, a day more won't matter. thanks for your help so far

it's kinda weird. looks like the cs doesn't have the symantec certs either so they can't be the problem.

in any case i'll see if there's a way to force an cert update.

I am not even sure the issue is a missing certificate, if you are up for it, repair install per this link  refreshes everything and retains user data and programs

All that should be needed is to re-install the windows updates again

i've done a repair install not too long ago (february) . could windows have any logs as to what's going wrong when it tries to authenticate?
