Well, to tell the truth, I'm just as happy with using a dummy e-mail account on my TOR profile and never looking back, but some 189-IQ individual at EA decided that if I do that, apparently my EA account as a whole is also transferred to that dummy account. It said so, when I tried, at least.

That's very intelligent. I definitely approve. That not asinine in the slightest.

Allright, I'll follow that line of reasoning.

So, when I change my mail account on my SWTOR profile and the tool tip LITERALLY SAYS that my EA account is updated with that new dummy account as well, it still isn't? Is that what you're saying?

Huh. Well, they ought to change that tool tip, then. Just my thoughts on that matter.

Okay, the confirmation mail never shows up on the dummy account no matter how many times I try and send it. But what I DO get is a mail with this message on the mail I want to keep:

Not trying to call you a liar or anything, but to me that line (to me, mind you) seems to indicate that if I ever actually get a confirmation mail and confirm it, the dummy mail account will be used as my mail account on my EA account as well. Even though you claim otherwise.

I won't know until EA actually decide to send a confirmation mail, I suppose. Now going on 16 minutes...

  • Well, I'll be. It came through. And it seems it didn't impair my EA account none.

    Gravy.

This email text is probably from 2011 when the game launched and was never updated. That's my guess. As proxos666 posted above, the strong 1:1 account linkage between swtor account and EA account was changed on June 25, 2019 due to security reasons (to allow for different email/password). edit to be more clear: the account linkage swtor --> ea.com is still permanent and cannot be changed, but can have different email/password.
