Re: Game temporarily freezes after every conversation.

@Infammo

Can you provide a dxdiag per this link

There was a MS issue that caused a crash on loading with Win 10 if relevant

from the known issues sticky it lists the windows patch that fixed it

  • Crash on Loading with Windows 10 Creator - MS Patch July 11, 2017—KB4025342 (OS Build 15063.483)  (Link) has fixed this issue

    Thanks for replying, here it is.

    I'm not sure the Win patch did this.  It just started happening and the game doesn't really crash, it just locks up when loading.  It'd resume eventually if I don't do anything.

    Given what you have tried , it wouldn't appear to be a game file issue

    Is there any change if you use ALT + Enter to take the game to window mode ? does this also occur in window mode itself afterwards

    From the crash details in the dxdiag can your press the windows key + R and type services.msc and press ok

    scroll down to geolocation , click on it and right mouse click and select properties and then go to startup type and select disabled

    Just wan to disable this to see if it has any relation to what is appearing in swtor

    Be sure to stop that service or reboot before trying swtor

    Disabling geolocation and rebooting didn't help.  And it happens in fullscreen, fullscreen windowed, and windowed.

    Ensure both launcher.exe and swtor.exe are in all the exception lists for the anti virus and firewall.

    Try taking the system to a clean boot per this link , if using bitraider they will need to stay enabled.

    On that note if you want to remove bitraider in case it is per this link

    Still appeared in safeboot and after making sure it was added as an exception.  =(

    When I reinstalled I mostly copy/pasted the game folder contents and only really lost my settings.  About the only thing I haven't tried is just deleting my game folder and re-downloading from scratch.  That'll take more than day though.

    @Infammo

    Welcome, I discounted that file initially as i presumed you did a complete new game install already

    Glad it is sorted
