I am not sure why my old email matters. When I log in to SWTOR (the game), I log in with my gmail.com account, and my EA account matches. I am confused about how my old Hotmail.com account came into question. I have regained access to my old email but that does me not good when I am logged into SWTOR with a different address. Can someone please explain?
if you created the swtor account with a hotmail email it created the swtor and a linked ea account (this is needed for purchasing on swtor) using the same email address
these accounts are now independant of each other and can have seperate emails and passwords on each account
so if you use a gmail for the swtor account for example the linked ea account still uses a hotmail email , you can put what ever emails you like on each account.
The linked ea account is not the ea account your posting on now , using the same email address does not create the account linkage

I am trying to subscribe to SWTOR and have been getting the following message on the website:
"There is an issue with your Electronic Arts account which will prevent SWTOR purchases until resolved. Please contact customer support (://help.ea.com/en-us/help/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/swtor-support) for further assistance."
I have tried steps to reset my EA Password as described earlier in the thread which did not solve the issue. I have also tried to bypass the issue by subscribing through steam which did not apply the subscribe time to the account. Any further assistance would be appreciated. My SWTOR username is: Chiraqmike.
You will need to call swtor support when the lines are open to fix the account issue on your account

Edit - for the steam purchase you will need to email uncropped screenshots per https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/INFO-Steam-Purchase-Not-Working/td-p/9356718/jump-to/first-unread-message however gametime cant be added until the account issue is resolved
