Re: I cant download SWTOR?

I think you misunderstood what I said, I was able to open up the launcher before but now it wont even download it saying "failed to load" from SWTOR_setup.exe.

    Morning dude

Without a log or two it truly is a blind shot in the dark, not really a one answer fits all.....

That said without knowing if you have or haven't, I have created a 'guide' to help folks work through these issues provided below.

    http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/Guide-quot-How-to-install-Swtor-Correctly-and-address-Windows-10/td-p/4851036

*I would be of the opinion that you haven't actually installed the Launcher as "Run as Admin", this in itself can cause the installations to 'trip' over the OS security settings and not actually install correctly..

Any issues please feel free to come back with your logs once you have tried to work through the steps provided.

    Best of luck.

    Morning Sir,

Fortunately I can not sleep.. I take it your 'right clicking the short-cut' on your desktop or quickbar/taskbar?

Right Click this time and Select 'OPEN FILE LOCATION'.

Now your looking at the *.exe in question.. right click this bad boy and select Properties.

Now in Properties we are selecting the 'Compatibility' tab and Here you will find that down the bottom you can place a tick into "Run this program as administrator".

Click Apply, Click OK.. Close out any Explorer Windows.. and lets try your game again 🙂.

Ahhh now I see which part your at, your at the using your Web Browser to download the file, if you look there is a little 'Black Arrow" Icon  just to the right side of that actual Bar.

So you have the Swtor Icon then it reads "SWTOR_setup (10).exe   ***Then the Black Arrow that You want pointing down"

Click that Arrow and select "OPEN FILE LOCATION", 🙂

Now you can actually see the real Setup.exe file..

This is now what you want to Right Click and select "RUN AS ADMIN"

**Lol, all of that other stuff is your Web Browser, and not part of Windows Explorer 🙂.

Jeepers picture is of your 10th download of the install file, that is why it had (10) in brackets.

As you appear to be of the 'older' category like myself, any issues please feel free to come back and ask questions or sing out and I can assist via Skype and walk you through the process in a fraction of the time.

    HELP!!

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM TOO NOW!

    I think.

I uninstalled the program a while ago to make room, but now I want to install it again and it doesn't work. Every time I try the set up pops up and says something like please wait while the setup utility installs, the green progress bar then completes, the setup disappears, and NOTHING HAPPENS.

Sometimes when I keep trying it asks if its been installed properly, I troubleshoot, and nothing happens. PLEASE HELP ME.

I am the least tech-savvy person there is, so please explain it simply.

    Thanks! :D

    Hi @MiniSingo1765,

Try using Ccleaner to see if there's any remaining files from the previous installation. You'll find more details here.
