If you didn't play the cutscene and didn't complete the quest, you can reset it and start it over to make sure the option is correct. 

To reset a quest, you'll need to get out of any phase you might be in. Once you're in a public area, open your mission log, click on the quest and reset it with the option at the bottom of the window.

Once you go through the quest again, if you get the same result when you pick the option you wanted, this will mean it's either working as designed, or a bug that only a patch could fix. I have not heard of this being bugged before though.
