  • @The_Nephilimm way cool, I am still working my way through all the info.

I see a few minor issues already that may be beneficial to you.

Your DXDiag Version is ancient which raises the concern have you installed DX9.0c which the game is fully built on.

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Your Native Resolution is 1024x768 yet your currently using 3072x768, this will give you issues until you install the correct monitor/projector drivers.

    As per http://www.projectorcentral.com/Acer-X1261P.htm

Your Projector is a 4:3; Native 1024x768;  Data Modes: Max 1920x1080

All this means is 1024x768 should be your Windows Settings, your Video Card Settings and your Games settings, then you would use the Projectors Zoom to give you the size you want.

Your 980 will fart these settings out and still have time to do your taxes.

*that being said I have never done a projector 3d setup so am more then likely talking out my ar...

Finally your Power settings still really need to be set to "High"

*Being Windows 7 I would ask have you also turned off Windows Aero.

*This guide does work/apply to windows 7/8 users so please feel free to give it a skim

yes I have ran the 2010 DX version install.. I am unsure what you mean by an ancient DXDiag?? yes native is 1024 but I have 3 Projectors for a total of 3072x768 at 120Hz..

my power settings are on High?? not sure where you see they are not?? I am able to get the 3D vision to kick in when running in Windowed FullScreen. it is just that no Fullscreen apps are kicking in S3D.,.

I am trying to find out why it works in windowed fullscreen but NOT in Fullscreen.. This is very weird.. DX11 Games work fine with 3D Vision (S3D)..

  • Sorry I should have clarified.

Swtor is a Directx 9.0c game; it was built upon the drivers that existed at the time which is DX9.0c.

That said DirectX 10 + 11 + 12 do not actually contain any DX9.0c files instead they Pretend that they do (emulate).

Short and skinny of it .. install the link I provided following the instructions in my 'guide' exactly for the best results please.

The bottom of your DXDIAG log shows.

    Spoiler

This to me reads as not High/Full power settings via Windows Power Options., *could be wrong.. long day and all.

The reason I was trying to show interest in your resolution is completely out my own curiousity, I would have expected it to have worked the same as 3 monitors each and all running at their 'native resolutions' and just positioned as such to make up the full 3000 blah blah resolution that you were going for..

That said if your running them @120hz  then double check. ... that your Windows Settings reflect this and are also 120hz, same for your Video Card Software (Everything has to be the same), Your Client_Settings.cfg has the correct refresh rate setting of 120hz.

The manual for that model of projector does have a very specific native resolution is all I was putting forward.

  • @The_Nephilimm My bad, 14 hours sleep and a kind message from someone brighter then me.. I was reading your dx wrong you were/are running with "High" power settings.

I am still curious on how you get on though.

Well I am going to request anyone here that runs 3D surround to help me test something.. If you could be so kind as to DL and install nThusim on your system. it is a free dl and trial for 10minutes at a time.. what I would like you to do is set the warp up weird so when ingame you know for sure the warp is enabled and test 3D vision and see if S3D works or not while running nThusim..

If you could bend the warp as to make it look really off it would be good as you will be able to tell if the warping is working.. if you get #d working I will be surprised..

  • @The_Nephilimm I am seriously annoyed now as 2 days ago I was living in ignorant bliss.

This setup of yours has interested me greatly, so I have been reading; Apparently...

"Nvidia 3D vision is there are a very strict limitations Nvidia has on it. It has to be a certified projector in order for the driver to register it as something that can be used. Sometimes people will hack the EDID to make Nvidia think a non-certified projector is certified, but it's a three ringed circus to get that working correctly. "

*I'm still reading so 2 sets of eyes are better then 1.

Yes the Projectors I have a 3D Vision certified.. After much fiddling about it appears any DX9 game is not working so it is not only SWTOR that is not working..

I have tried several things and nothing has worked.. I am pretty sure it just stopped working but that don't seem to make sence as to why it would just stop working like that.. I am severly frustrated too but for the time being I am using SimPit warp which works but still unable to run SWTOR in Fullscreen mode but at least the 3D works.. 😉
