Try running a repair:

Non-Streaming launcher - Log into the launcher but don't click Play. Check for small letters "ST" in the bottom left corner. If this is NOT present, With the new launcher after login , select the username pull down on the top right and select settings, then press repair.


Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut, select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher.

It could also be an issue with your video driver, make sure they are up to date or even try to uninstall and reinstall the video driver if the above doesn't work.

    So for some reason I am not able to use the repair function. Any way I could change that?

    Repair on the launcher is disabled for streaming launcher 

    either do 

    Streaming launcher - If the letters "ST" is present, close the launcher, right mouse click on the game shortcut, select open file location and delete the BitRaider folder. Then start the launcher.

    I don't have a Steam launcher, but it still want let me click repair. I have been having problems with Taris having a completely black map, which disables me to use some of the features on Taris. Please help me.

    Do you have the letters ST on the lower left of the launcher ?

    Change your laptop power settings to high performance in the first instance and see if it persists
