Re: Zoning: Unable to: Quick Transport/Fleet Pass/Normal Ship

@ionvox

The next time it crashes attach a copy of your DxDiag Log so we can see if there is anything there.  Steps to do that are found here

Have you tried to switch instance first and see if it works?  I would also try the repair utility just in case

    Took a bit to figure out how to switch instance, but that didn't seem to help. Also, if she dies, the sounds come up for respawn, but simply shows the loading screen. (just found that out - similar to the Quick Travel option, only it's a black screen.)

    Attached DxDiag.txt

    Thanks for your help. Going slightly nuts on this thing.

    @ionvox

    Run this utility (Link) and see if any newer video driver exists

    Edit - this driver (Link) appears to be the latest

    I think this laptop is below minimum spec to run the game though

    Only other thing can try, With the game not running go to

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor

    and delete just the file called diskcachearena

    but like i said this system is certainly borderline in able to run the game.

    Edit - Your CPU is

    Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU          900  @ 2.20GHz

    Minimum is

    • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better

    Your GPU is

    Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family

    Minimum is

    • Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better

    The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better

    your card has

    Dedicated Memory: 64 MB

    Additional intrigue... Logging out on that character hangs the client as well. Thought that was funny...

    Yeah, it's an old laptop. But I haven't had issues with the game, really. I have everything turned down on the graphics side.

    Just deleted that cachefile you mentioned. Going to see if that worked. If not, will try that new driver.

    This worked! Holy Carp!

    *watches a flying fish appear*

    (gotta love typos)

    Anyway. Thanks muchly! I was banging my head against the wall, trying to figure out why it was just the one, then two characters. Must've been something corrupt in that cache file.

    Thanks again!
