Given this issue occurs after an amount of time playing have you considered this could actually be heat/thermal related ? wird things can occur when thermal issues startup.
It is worth monitoring the temps of both the GPU and CPU , and even take the side of the PC off and blow a fan in to see if it changes how often this garbled text occurs.
There is a game cache file you can delete at C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor this file is called diskcachearena and a new one will auto create on the next game launch. I would of thought if this issue would be there all the time but cant hurt to delete the cache to be certain.
