Sever List Problem. Would Appreciate Assistance.

Can somebody please help or at least explain something to me? I hadn't played swtor for a few days and during that period they released the patch. So, normally I logged in, installed the patch, waited, then pressed the play button. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except when the game started up, I wasn't greeted with the theme that is always there when you log in, and instead of directing me to my character slots on the Ebon Hawk, it showed an empty server list. Nothing, no ships flying in the background, no ambient theme, and no servers were listed under the NA or Europe sections, and after about five minutes into my complete and udder befuddlement, the "unable to retrieve server list" popped up and when I pressed ok, it closed the program. I launched it again about half an hour later, and the above mentioned happened again. I tried to go to the in-game customer support section next to the server list, but was unpleasantly greeted with a vacuous space that just said the word "updating..." for the next several hours. I would appreciate any and all help and/or insight into this problem.

What exactly is it your doing to get the server list to appear

If you want to keep being defensive in answering questions your doing yourself no favors

A proxy server is a cache for port 80 and uses a different port

what proxy server are you actually using , ie what are you entering into the proxy field

If you do not want help with this just say so i have better things then banter back and forth trying to pull details

Turning off Bit Defender doesn't always open the doors that it could have closed.. same with Windows Firewall.

Dude, you have someone offering you help, gratis, and you come off all defensive and stuff, when he is trying to go through the list of things your issue could be. Do not bite the hand that is feeding you, he is trying to make sure he's on the same page as you to help you fix your issue.

Remember, you are the person asking for help, there is not need to get nasty or be defensive, we aren't looking over your shoulder, and I know I personally can sometimes think I did everything off a long list, only to have someone say it instead of me reading it, and have a "doh" moment as I realize I forgot one little thing, and that ends up being what fixes the problem, and I'm pretty sure everyone else here has had similar moments, he is acting as fresh eyes that might see something that was missed through being upset about it not working, or from reading the same list a gazillion times.

You have heard the phrase you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, well, you get better help by being polite than by getting defensive.
