star wars launcher error

it says "Unable to retrieve patch data. Please check network connection." I know this is a very common issue, so I looked it up on around 5-10 forums and tried everything, but nothing worked. I have already tried reinstalling, disabling bitraider, and I check my firewall and antivirus. 

Edit- still not working

    208 is a communication error to either manifest.swtor.com or cdn-patch.swtor.com , the launcher log in the log folder should give an indication.

    Most common cause is the antivirus and firewall blocking launcher.exe

    Have seen a recent routing issue out of Thailand though if relevant , in which case only a vpn can help until resolved.

    Easiest is Right mouse click on the game shortcut and select open file location you will see a log folder.

    See if a ping to manifest.swtor.com responds ok , if it responds ok then it is likely a local antivirus/.firewall issue.

    I did see one case of a net issue out of Thailand like i mentioned before and is at this link
