SWTOR 100% and still can't play?

So, I've been having a lot of trouble installing swtor, and I've tried 3 hours worth of fixes to attempt at fixing the problem. I finally gave up and copied the game files from my brother's computer as to attempt to play the game like that. However, when I logged in, the launcher patched to 100%, it said it was complete, but i couldn't click the play button. PLEASE HELP!

One symptom of 100% complete and no play button is if the windows service called Bitraider Mini Support Stub Loader service is not running.

Press the windows key + R type services.msc (press enter)

Scroll down to Bitraider services and ensure this is set to automatic and is enabled and running.

I used to have that problem a while back. My guild had me delete some folders/files in the .NET framework folder. Now, before you go and mess with that (not recommended but it DID work for me) what is the game on? Did you download off a disk, the digital version, or is it on Origin? Could just need to wait with the completed launcher for a bit to have it completely "complete" the install. I have once patched it and had to wait 10-15 minutes before the play was enabled. If that doesn't work, try restarting your computer, making sure your drivers and such are up to date, and if all else fails you may need to uninstall and reinstall, which i know is a pain.

If all that fails i would look up some fixes in the .NET framework cause I've had it stuck at 97% and 100% before and that fix helped me. It is very dangerous for your computer to mess with those files and folders if you delete or mess with the wrong ones which is why i would hope any other fix would help. Let me know if the above helps any and If i need to, I can probably get a link for the .NET fix. Lets just hope it doesn't come to that.

  • Go to your SWTOR Installation folder and delete the Bitraider folder inside.

  • Thank you so much! this fixed my problem and I was also able to download the update today.

I fixed mine with something like this:

I launched brwc_swtor manually, then launched SWTOR via desktop icon, waited for BR to complete its current task.  clicked whatever came up when it was done, canceled the window that asked me 'where is SWTOR' after BR was finished, the red portion of the SWTOR launcher reversed itself to 0 after a short pause then it did a 'verify', another short pause and I had my play button back. this worked all of 1 time, after reboot, was right back where I started, all it did was maybe end the stalemate between BR and SWTOR launcher, if you WIN+R and you have the BR service running then most likely BR is the problem, the more permanent solution is to delete the BR subdir in your SWTOR game directory then reboot, launch SWTOR and let SWTOR launcher re-build BR.
