SWTOR 21:9 resolution not working correctly

Hi Support Team,

so I got a 21:9 Screen, an LG 29” with 2560x1080 resolution and 75Hz.

All my games work without any problems on this resolution and look beautiful except SWTOR.

The graphics are stretched  to fit the screen instead of being properly set to the right aspect ratio.

I tried switching between fullscreen, windowed full screen and windowed. No change. Heck I even wanted to go with a letter box mode with 1080p and accept black boxed on the sides but nope, still gets stretched across the screen.

I tried adjusting the settings ini file. Setting everything to 2560x1080. No change.

Tried CRU as pointed out on reddit. Doesn’t work.

Finally I made a complete fresh install. After that the game booted automatically into 4k. Looked even more terrible because the screen doesn’t support the resolution. Inside the ini file it was now all set to 3840x2160 by the game.

So once again tried everything as before and same bad results. I also tried setting the launcher and the swtor.exe in compatibility mode with high dpi override to follow the system setting. Not working.

Windows is set to recommend resolution 2560x1080 as well.

I am using the latest windows version (I also tried the previous one) and the latest nvidia drivers. Everything is up to date and no problems in any other applications or games.

Please help, I want to be able to enjoy this game.

Switching to a display port cable actually fixed my issue.

maybe check your drivers? sometimes doing a clean install of gpu drivers does the trick.

  • Almost forgot:

Connection Type is HDMI. It was included with the monitor. I could go by a DisplayPort cable if that helps^^

  • I have the same problem since today. I played the game for a couple of weeks without this but suddenly since I came back to continue playing today the graphics are streched for me as well!

Tried already switching cable, reinstalling the game, nothing helped!

Is there any news here on this topic?

Making a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel worked for me.  I had been scouring fixes for weeks and nothing worked until this!

    THANK YOU!
