Every time when i start SWTOR my desktop refreshrate changes to 144hz. Every gamesettings is set to 60hz mode and 60 fps cap. Even these cfg file from %appdata%.Its very frustrate me. I am using 60hz and dont have any problem with others game AT ALL. Please dont tell me about update graphic drivers\reinstall game and other obvios *****. @Edelvises Can you provide a dxdiag per this link and the contents of the client_setting file seen per this link

The next time you turn your computer off, find the cable from the monitor to the computer, unplug the cable from the computer end and note down what you think it is, now on the metal just above or below that socket it will say what type of connector it is as noted by Proxos666, it will be engraved into the metal.If it doesn't show there, look in your graphics card manual or if your graphics is intergrated, the motherboard manual and find the specifications for the motherboard, it will say in that what the connectors are on the backend of the device.

@Edelvises Can i just clarify why windows is using 60Hz as default , is that something you are doing intentionally ? To look at basics first, The DVI cable you are using which one does it match in the image below for pin layout ?

@Edelvises Ok thanks for the info Swtor reads the EDID of the monitor i'm afaraid but need to work out why it is changing given you have 60Hz set in the client_setting file Can you load the montir driver from Benq at this link if not used previously sometimes they include corrections to the EDID, just want to see if this stops the switching occurring. It may be best to just not use ALT/Tab but use ALT/Enter to go into and out of fullscreen mode

Newer nvidia driver is at this link too The only way I can think of to stop this occurring is to remove 144Hz as an option altogether in the EDID, one way to do that can use CRU (Link) to create an override just selecting 1920x1080 @60Hz as the only available resolution. XL2411 should include Z , look at https://zowie.benq.com/en/support.html Edit - see this link the XL2411Z is now known just as as XL2411

SWTOR changes my desktop refrashrate.

I5-4670 16GB ram

780gtx

Monitor Benq xl2411z (max 144hz, but i use 60hz for some reasons).

All is up to date.

You mean its not win 10?
Graphic driver was updated like ~week ago. Do you really think it will help? Obvios not. Problem exist not with last driver. it exist long before.

No i am just saying Windows 7 updates isn't giving you the latest video driver, and the monitor inf I linked earlier is the one for your monitor.

Anyways using CRU and removing the 144Hz is the only way I can think to stop this occurring when you tab out

This CRU looks like mess. I am not sure i understand what exactly it is. I dont want ruin thats works fine. There is no problems with hundreds others games.

Windows updates are usually slow to get back to you with the latest updates. Nvidia's control software will usually let you know if there is a new driver with an a yellow Exclaimation mark on the icon in the windows toolbar.

Unfortunately Swtor is one of the few games that looks at the EDID and for some reason the driver is allowing switch back to 144Hz even though 60Hz is listed , it shouldn't be allowing it but it is.
