8 years agoSWTOR keeps crashing
I've had this problem since I started playing. It seems that whenever I go to interact with a character giving me a mission, the game freezes and it comes up with a pop up telling me that SWTOR has s...
Can you check if the crashes occur when you play in lowered GFX settings and in windowed mode?
In the game's Graphics Preferences, ensure you have the following options enabled:
- Graphics Quality Preset = Very Low
- Resolution: 1280 x 720
- Window Mode = Windowed
- Visible Character Limit = Low
- Grass Quality = 0
- Shadow Quality = Off
If the game still crashes, can you attach a DxDiag to this thread?
I have played the game in "very low" mode, and it still crashed but it gave me a pop up telling me that SWTOR has stopped working. I got a new graphics card and decided, for the kicks, to boot the graphics present up to very high and I presume that that could be the root of the more frequent crashing? I haven't tried the game in windowed mode.
I'm attaching my dxdaig (in images), and computer properties (because the cpu does come up in dxdaig).
So first, Direct X not regocnizing your Processor is probably an issue you'll need to address, but it's kind of outside my scope.
Second, I see you're on a 32bit OS, and we've seen some fairly common crashing issues related to the limitations of a 32bit OS. Here's one workaround from @proxos666:
[Only for use in 32bit Operating Systems]

To disable after testing the game if no affect

2.At the command prompt, enter "bcdedit /deletevalue IncreaseUserVa"
3.Push Enter Key and Restart the computer.
