SWTOR Launcher not Opening

This started 3 days ago (before that, had no issues, had not done anything). So I double click my desktop icon to launch the game, the permission box appears and I say yes (as usual), after this... n...

    Hey @8554668. Ouch, that sounds like a painful few days! I think you may have actually undone some of your hard work when you ran through those later troubleshooting steps - perhaps because there are a few bits in between deleting the launcher.exe application and running the launcher repair. What posts were you using for reference, out of curiosity? With tech stuff, it's generally best to take older posts (pre-2015/2016 at any rate) with a pinch of salt when it comes to SWTOR - the launcher uses a different method to download patches.
    Start by running through the launcher troubleshooting guide (here) - the steps there will fix about 95% of all problems with the installation, if followed in order. If they don't work, you may want to call the tech support team (contact information can be found here) and see what they can do to help. You've been through enough!

Thank you for that. I will happily admit that I was using an older walk through (believe from 2013), but I just couldn't find a newer one; so thanks or the link.

I went through it, step by step and it worked. I even did a quick shutdown, and tried to just open from the desktop and it worked. So I imagine my problem has been fixed.

Hi, a friend is having the same issue - for a whole year. What did they tell you to do to make it work, EXACTLY?

We've both tried to fix his game, but nothing seems to work, the launcher never opens, but it CAN open an endless amount of SWTOR PROCESSES in Task Manager, there simply wont be a single launcher opening up on the desktop, ever.

If you'd be so kind to tell us what they told you to do. We've tried the help centers and such, but it didn't do anything, it still won't open, and so he cannot update and download the game itself.
