SWTOR streched graphics issue

Hello everyone, I read in the patch notes that a resolution issue had been fixed and after being advised to check if it also covers an older problem of mine, I re-installed the game. Below is my experience:

The issue remains unresolved, and re-installing kinda made it worse since now I can't play at 1280x786 as well because the image fits to the entirety of my screen instead of having black lines at the top and bottom. However, I have been able to go around this by tinkering a bit with the nVidia settings.

Also, I had to manually change the default resolution in the client_settings file, since it had been set to 1920x1080 and I was getting a "Monitor Out Of Range" error every time I tried to start the game. Just fyi if that happens to someone else - it messed up with my monitor's entire resolution, so I had to go into Safe Mode, open the System Configuration options (Win+R then type msconfig), go into the Boot menu and tick Base video. After that you can start Windows normally and you can re-set your resolution to whatever it was before. You have to remember to go back in the msconfig Boot options and untick Base video, otherwise it will always boot your PC with the lowest resolution.

Additionally, something I noticed in the client_defaults file is that the width and height are set to 1152x864. I'd change it if it wasn't for the warning and I guess it may be something to consider.

One last thing - I have a GTX 1060, but my monitor is quite old - LG L1918S. Since the 1060 doesn't have a VGA port, I'm using a VGA to HDMI connector. I didn't have this issue with my old videocard, when it and my PC had a direct connection. Hope that is of some use to, well, someone.

Aplogize for the delay in a response but wanted to follow up to see if this issue is still occurring?  If so wondering if you tried either replacing the adapter or tried on a newer monitor with a direct HDMI connection and bypassing the adapter.  The adapter is the only thing I can think of if that is the case with having an older monitor.  Does the monitor just have VGA or does it have DVI as well?

Yooo, I completely forgot I made this thread. To answer your question - yes, I'm pretty sure the adapter is what's causing this, as I didn't have this issue before changing my videocard (my current one doesn't have a direct port for my monitor). What's interesting is that other videogames are not getting their graphics stretched, so there could be something funny going on from TOR's side as well.

Don't worry about me though, the game is playable in my current setup (1024x768, with black lines on the top and bottom of the screen) and I'll be getting a new monitor one of these days. Still, thanks for your answer.
