SW:TOR this application has encountered an unspecified error

whenever trying to use the streaming launcher it comes up with an "unspecified error" and will not patch, using the non streaming patcher works. disabling my anti-virus and firewall does not rectify ...

Is there any reason you cant remain on non streaming ? unspecified error cannot occur on SSN

If you really want to stay with bitraider try the below first

Shut down the launcher.

  • Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc (or Win-X in Windows 10) to open task manager.
  • Click on the Processes tab and end the following Bit Raider processes: BRSptStub.exe and BRSptSvc.exe
  • Go to your installation directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic) and open the BitRaider folder.
  • Delete the Config folder.
  • Delete all .xfr files in the BitRaider folder.
  • Restart the launcher, it should now force a repair and allow you back into the game.

I have already attempted those steps and I'm still having issues. Only reason for wanting to use the streaming launcher is for the speed.
