SWTOR wants to give me unneccesary name changes
Admittedly it's been a while since I played SWTOR (2012), so I shouldn't be surprised that a lot of things have changed. This includes Active slots, free-to-play models and something called preferred...
Did you last play before the server merger? If so that would be the reason why. When they merged servers people that had the same / duplicate name had to reclaim them. More then likely someone else claimed the names you had before so you would need to choose new names.
