SWTRO "This application has encountered an unspecified error."

I am unable to log into the game - SWTOR.

When the launcher attempts to initialize I keep getting the error message: "This
application has encountered an unspecified error."

I've tried stopping all bitrraider processes via task manager.
I've tried deleting my Bitraider folder.
I've tried rebooting the PC.
I've checked to see that the launcher.exe is allowed by my Norton Firewall.
I've scanned for malware.

Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @Northrim77 

    Ensure you have tried all the steps in this guide here.  There are two additional .exe files listed and it needs to be added to both firewall and anti-virus.  If you have one of the following anti-virus programs, make the associated change:

    ESET - disable protocol filtering
    Kapersky - disable scan secure/encrypted connections
    Nortons (firewall) - ensure exceptions are set to allow not auto
    AVG - disable link surf scanner shield

    hero,

    Thanks!  I went through each step listed in your post and it worked.  The one new step I had not tried was going into services.msc and setting the BitRaider mini-support service stub loader to automatic.  That may have been the trick or it may have been a combination of several at the same time.

    Either way I'm back in the Galaxy again.
