SWTRO "This application has encountered an unspecified error."

I am unable to log into the game - SWTOR. When the launcher attempts to initialize I keep getting the error message: "This application has encountered an unspecified error." I've tried stopping ...

    @Northrim77 

    Ensure you have tried all the steps in this guide here.  There are two additional .exe files listed and it needs to be added to both firewall and anti-virus.  If you have one of the following anti-virus programs, make the associated change:

    ESET - disable protocol filtering
    Kapersky - disable scan secure/encrypted connections
    Nortons (firewall) - ensure exceptions are set to allow not auto
    AVG - disable link surf scanner shield

hero,

Thanks!  I went through each step listed in your post and it worked.  The one new step I had not tried was going into services.msc and setting the BitRaider mini-support service stub loader to automatic.  That may have been the trick or it may have been a combination of several at the same time.

Either way I'm back in the Galaxy again.
