Update 5.10.1 installation stuck at 95.93%

I'm trying to install the newest update and seem to be stuck. It started very quickly and now won't move for the last few hours. This has happened to me before and I would just copy my husbands file after he downloaded it but his is stuck too. I have windows 10 and he has windows 8. Please help so we can play thank you!

Not sure what is the cause of this, it maybe simpler to swap patch methods and see if it behaves different.

See this link for directions, just be aware it is a new game install, however once one is complete you can copy the entire game folders to the other computer, so not downloading twice

Add launcher.exe and swtor.exe to your firewall / anti-virus in case they are blocking the install in some way.  If you already have remove and then re-add them.  Also ensure you are running the game as an admin by right clicking on the shortcut and choosing run as an administrator.

If you have one of the following anti-virus's installed, try making the associated change to see if it resolves the issue:

    ESET - disable protocol filtering
Kapersky - disable scan secure/encrypted connections
Nortons (firewall) - ensure exceptions are set to allow not auto
AVG - disable link surf scanner shield

  • That doesn't seem to be working either. I even shut off my firewall. Thanks though.

Give your router/modem a reboot too just to be sure given it affects both, are both using the same antivirus ?

Have you triggered a repair per this link after setting the exceptions in the antivirus and firewall ?

  • Yes both computers have the same ativirus. Something fixed one of them for not even a full percent but now its stuck there. Tried redoing the fix and now stuck at 96.13% have unplugged the router and plugged it back in. Working on 1 computer at a time and having only that computer online in the house.

  • After letting it download all day yesterday and all night last night it worked! Thank you so so much.
