When I press play, a black screen appears and then crashes.

    @proxos666 Unfortunately I will not be listening to this direction, but I have a good reason why! It works! The game is working! I think all I had to do was update to NVIDIA version 381.65? I honestly have no idea but, the game works!!! Ty so much for your help! :D

@proxos666It worked! It asked me if I wanted to overwrite a newer file. I told it yes because at the time my internet browser went black due to the installation so I couldn't seem to ask you what your opinion was.

Unfortunately attempting to run the game still failed. I am now going to attempt a restart to see if that fixes anything. If it fails I'll be editing this post momentarily with that update.

EDIT: Unfortunately, restarting did not help. Same issue.

    just to confirm the issue lays with nvidia , try starting the game using the intel video driver instead

    am going now for the night 🙂

    @proxos666How do I start the game with the intel video driver instead of the nvidia driver?

    EDIT: I've also noticed that I am now unable to play Bloons Tower Defense 6, Genshin Impact, or Among Us. Bloons Tower Defense 6 and Among Us both display a weird "Unity" loader before loading and afterwards closing, and Genshin Impact just displays a white screen upon launch before also closing. Both Among Us and Bloons Tower Defense 6 are downloaded on Steam, while Genshin Impact is downloaded on Epic Games. This is most likely a result of the graphic driver changes made last night, as I was able to play at least one of those games (Genshin Impact) just fine before last night.

    can try and use the latest drivers that are 7 years newer to do that use DDU at https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4387

    this removes the video drivers back to like a clean windows install , then install the video drivers previously linked at post 4 https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Technical/When-I-press-play-a-black-screen-appears-and-then-crashes/m-p/12397792#M98572

    start with the intel video driver , and then the nvidia video driver

    @proxos666 Ok question which DDU download link do I use? The Portable/Self-Extracting one or the Installer one?

    @proxos666Ok so I couldn't install the listed NVIDIA driver from #4 (same issue) but I did everything else

    EDIT: NVIDIA is now telling me to update to version 381.65, i don't know how it installed another version but i guess it did. I'm currently listening to it's advice and downloading that.

    try updating the nvidia driver via device manager extract the 531 driver and point to it via 

    1. Open Device Manager.
    2. Expand Display Adapters.
    3. Right-click your GPU.
    4. Select Update driver from the context menu.
    5. Install any driver updates that are available and restart the system.
