Windows 10 Nvidia drivers crashing while playing ToR

I have a GTX970 and been getting Win 10 driver Kernel mode driver has crashed and recovered just web browsing ....  haven't in game yet though

There is a known issue with EVGA GTX980 at present with drivers/firmware if relevant

Download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), found on http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html .

Install it, and use it to uninstall both the NVidia and Intel drivers (if you run Intel Core processor).

Reinstall both drivers and you should be fine again.

I prefer to download DDU from here - Guru3d is an official mirror though

Hey, when I updated to Windows 10 Swtor would crash constantly. I tried uninstalling my graphics drivers and reinstalling them but had the same problem. So I decided to try switching to an older driver, I did that and Swtor still crashed. When I switched to my older driver, it still didn't work and I found that i had to install an older version of Physx as well. So I went into my programs and uninstalled both the driver AND Physx, and installed older driver and old Physx. That seemed to partly resolve my issue as the game would still crash, just not as often.

             I also clicked Windows 8 in the search box drop-down thing. Since none of the windows 10 drivers worked for me.

                      P.S. When you download the driver from the nvidia site it will include Physx.

                      P.S.S When installing click "custom" and check the box "clean installation".

NVidia released new drivers this morning, featuring various fixes.

Hi. I had been having the same issue and went through every single fix the internet had to offer for the problem with no joy.

It was only swtor that i had the issue in, literally nothing else. I even used burn in tests and benchmarks like FurMark to stress test the card and saw no issues at all (brand new PC easily capable of running swtor on max settings).

Eventually after trying every single driver released since Win 10, trying the nVidia HDMI sound conflict fix, trying every level of graphics setting, putting all nVidia settings on everything from prefer max quality to prefer max performance and adjusting registry settings for timeout values etc. i found the solution myself:

I disabled antialiasing in swtor itself, then used Guru3D Inspector to force the graphics card to override the game with its own antialiasing. I hope that this solution works for other people too as i found it so frustrating to have driver kernel timeouts every 30 seconds. I have been so happy to finally have it all working correctly!

i have the same issues with SWTOR and WIN10, and have a gtx 970 vga...

this is a really bad situation

Why does it feel like SWTOR just doesn't like new GPUs? I have a similar problem with the new AMD GPU I got. Tried everything and running SWTOR would always crash the driver. I switch it for my nvidia card and the game has yet to cause the nvidia driver to crash. Not good.

If this is a EVGA 970 , this post maybe related , email evga and see if any new firmware is available.
