Action Camera still triggers despite disabling it in options

Maybe I'm not understanding how the "Action Camera" view is supposed to work, but the game still zooms into an over-the-shoulder view even when Action Camera is turned off from the options menu.

    Hey, there

I get how the different camera views can be a bit confusing at first! I haven't played a game like this in a while myself.

The over-the-shoulder view you are seeing during exploration is actually the standard camera perspective for non-combat gameplay. In Star Wars Zero Company, exploration phases (like walking around the Den or investigating planets before a battle begins), we suggest using this third-person view as part of the core game design.

The "Action Camera" setting in your options menu specifically controls the cinematic zoom-ins during turn-based tactical combat. When enabled, it drops the camera down into a cinematic, over-the-shoulder shot to highlight your squad's moves, blaster fire, or special abilities. If you disable it, your camera will stay locked in the overhead isometric view during combat encounters. Star Wars Zero Company™ FAQ

So, if you are seeing the over-the-shoulder view while exploring outside of combat, that is actually working exactly as intended! However, if you are still seeing cinematic camera zooms during actual combat turns with the option disabled, please let us know.

Thanks for bringing this up, and hope to see you out there in the galaxy!

Thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, this is occurring during isometric turn-based combat and not the exploration sections. Despite the toggle being set to the "off" position, the camera zooms into a low-angle over-the-shoulder camera view during things like overwatch shots, etc. I suspect this is not the intended behavior.

Hello! This happens for me too. During combat, the action camera takes over during blaster fire, and I have it turned off. It also will go inside of boxes or other environmental objects, and it is hard to even see the "action". Thank you for your help in this matter.

Thanks for clarifying that this is happening during the turn-based combat segments, especially during overwatch shots!

Can you keep the setting disabled to see if it behaves differently in other skirmishes? I want to see if there are any differences in gameplay throughout the game.

If you notice any other specific combat actions triggering the camera zoom when the option is disabled, please let us know. It may not be an issue or something we already know about, but since it's the weekend, we will follow up in the AM.

tim_bob_freeman Hey, can you make the same changes, go through more skirmishes, and let us know what happens, when, and where?

    Thanks
