On the other hand, if you're shard farming in Normal energy Hard Nodes
Gain 20 sim tickets per refresh. 120 energy per refresh.
AT WORST in shard farming, spend 12 energy per refresh = 120/12 = 10 sim tickets spent. Since you got 20, you actually increase by 10 sim tickets.
At BEST in shard farming, spend 20 energy per refresh = 120/20 = 6 sim tickets spent. You gain 14 per refresh.
With 35/day to take care of simming your free energy, and if you manual at least some of your challenges, you can get tickets back VERY quickly buying regular energy.
I try to find Stage 7-9 Hard Nodes with 2 different purple gear I need. Then the 20 energy is giving one chance each at 2 different pieces of gear, it's the same as farming a normal node for gear at 10 energy/attempt, but it costs 1/2 the sim tickets AND as a bonus you get some shards. Maybe it's a character you don't really want, but the shards are free, so why complain? And if it's a character you will eventually want, you get a small head start before focussing your farming later.
That way, I slowly build up tickets so if I have a day or three in a row when I don't have time to play, I have plenty of tickets to sim everything, even challenges.
