People always talk about the gap between FTP and P2P. How many FTP are going to be able to field decked out synergy teams? The only reason most can compete in arena is because they have leader abilities that are universal and cover the squad they were able to pull together and level up.
It will be the P2P that will be running maxed out clone teams, Ewok teams, etc.
It's surprisingly easy to make synergy team. The first couple of chromium a I opened when I was just starting the game and completely F2P I got Leia, Luke, and some Scout shards to star him up. Han is farmable and so is Askbar. This is one of the most whale-ish synergy teams in the game and I unlocked them all before hitting level 50. Plus once you actually put your time to farm certain toons it is very easy to farm just that toon. I get what you are saying but it isn't that hard to farm specific toons.
