I can see how that would be a problem from a mechanical standpoint, but it doesn’t really explain why there’s outrage about the character herself, when there’s nothing wrong with her existing, and being added.

From the looks of some comments, it seems like some people think that this character being released somehow means that other pre-established characters aren’t going to be added at some point, and while in some very minor cases, that could be true, (albeit, in those cases, the characters were probably never planned to be added to begin with, whether it be because they were too minor, and/or had nothing at all to really work with, like Porkins) some pre-existing character not being released has absolutely nothing to do with this characters release, and it certainly isn’t some “sign” that the company doesn’t care about what characters people want to see in the game.

I respectfully disagree, simply because it takes time for CG to develop a character. I feel the time they used to develop this character would have been better used developing Hondo, Scout Trooper, or a Flame Trooper (just to give a few examples). CG has a finite number of resources and instead of drawing something up from scratch, they could have given us a character that has been asked for since the beginning of the game.

I, and some others I have spoken with, would rather development time be used for characters we know instead of a character made-up just for this game.

There is another game similar to this one that also introduced their own made-up character instead of using the deep pool of possible characters. This move led to me cutting way back on that game since it turned out to be an important character but I couldn't get myself to care about the character.
