A suggestion to a new log in and save method

I've been thinking of a new method for people to log in to the game and possibly recover an account.

These days we have the opportunity to log in with Facebook, Google Play and iOS (maybe EA Connect too?) in order to save our progress and to continue our journey from where we left off, if we switch to another device and so on. This is all good and dandy as long as you do not delete any of the options or potentially get hacked.

The new method I've been thinking of is to use the Ally Code and Player ID to create a Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes account in the game for the player, the Ally Code would be the temporarily username and the Player ID the temporarily password until the player will come up with a username and password. The player will also have to add an email address in order to make the account more secure and you will receive a verification code in order to verify your email address. You will need to verify that it is in fact you each time you change device in order to keep your account safe. This is not a huge issue unless you change devices three or more times per year.
After the player has finished creating his or hers account it will work the same way as any of the other log in options but EA/Capital Games will probably need dedicated servers for this to be a viable option. So if you lose one of your other log in methods, whether by accident or on purpose you will have an official Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes account which is safe and secure in EA/Capital Games's server/cloud save.
Everyone will get this option as long as you remember your Ally Code and Player ID. It can help people who have lost the access to their account in the past to recover it.

Before anyone comments, yes I know that the profile we make when we start the game is the official Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes account but my point is to make it more secure and reliable by personalizing it instead of relying solely on Facebook, Google Play, iOS and so on to maintain our progress. These options are secure as long as you do not delete any of them but if you delete them (or maybe get hacked), there's no way back. EA Help will not be able to help you recover your progress so having a proper profile in the game will the best solution.

And yes, I know the Ally Code has never been the username and that the Player ID has never been a password but I chose these two as a part of creating an account inside the game since everyone get these and they are all unique. In my mind linking the Ally Code and Player ID to this account will help personalize it but I could be wrong.

It will probably cost EA/Capital Games an amount of money but they can most likely afford it. They aren't exactly poor.

I have no idea if this or a similar method has been suggested before or not but I wanted to share it.
  • I can grab the allycode and playerId of every account at any time. So thats not secure at all.

Also CG has shown that they have zero interest in making a stronger auth

How are you able to do that? Do you hack people?
It's a shame that they do not want to make it more secure for people.
