You could create a bunch of alts and feed yourself stuff you need to speed up your progression. It would through off the pacing of the game which has always been there.
You're right about abusive aspect of proposed system. However surely you're aware that the pacing of the game was thrown off quite some time ago by CG itself. They added a g12, a lot of new units and features, most notably TB, however gear and credit aquisition from different challenges and events falls short. It's the same as it was a year ago. There wasn't any readjusting, so pace of the game gets slower and slower. Unless you pay regularly, then all is dandy ;)
