yeah the original source material was written in the 70s at a time when a lot of Hollywood wanted to make stuff that the majority of their viewers could identify to? And the writer was white guy. Of course there are issues of classism and race inequality handled through droids and alien species but when characters and races interact ins tar wars there doesn’t seem to be any slanted behaviour based on skin tone. I wonder what would have happened if the Finn arc had gone in a different direction…if Abrams had made all three movies maybe Finn would be a GL.
