If Kylo was the only GL I'd agree.

Unfortunately they released Rey at the exact same time, and in fact she was even harder to get early due to the Poe farming timeline, and yet here we are anyway.

Vast majority of rey in my shard don’t use fives or 501st and have no issues climbing daily. I think people need to look at how they’re playing their characters and what interactions can be beneficial instead of crying.

Fives is the result of "looking at how people play their characters and what interactions are beneficial" outside of the prescribed teams of GLs and GAS 501st and every other low-variation team.

Just like every other team that was fixed, they were unusual teams that people found special interactions with, instead of "it's an FO team, use FO", or "it's a Sith team, use Sith", or "it's a 501st team, it's these specfic 5 characters".

This '5s' problem will be difficult to solve imo.

Let's say they do the easiest thing and allow Kylo to use aoe against 501st. Then you have a situation where if you have a badly geared 501st clone, he will die from aoe hence sacrificing 5s. If all your 501st clones are geared up, neither will die from aoe. So you have a situation where you're ad advantage if you have a badly geared character in your roster, which is something they absolutely don't want in the game. (and rightfully so imo, as you can't "ungear" a character).
