You are wrong about one thing: this post 100% does change what this poster thinks of you.
This post shows a lot of class, and I have a huge respect for you in making it.
Yeah, I mean, just compare it to some of the ban complain posts. Like that one a few weeks ago where a player returned (or whatever) from a break and found he had been banned at one point, without knowing why. A few other players uploaded screenshots of his roster, which has lv54 G5-6 Ewoks and a 7* 3P0, despite the fact that even G12 Ewoks have trouble in the last tier. Then he just tried to laugh it off or dismiss it.
The OP may have had their reasons, but they still did something that later turned out to be wrong. The OP realised they were wrong and showed they had enough, what's the word I'm looking for..., dignity to admit it and apologise for any harm they might have done, regardless of whether or not it changes what happened and whether or not everyone else accepts those apologies.
