Are the Veteran Smuggler packs worth it?

If your going to spend money on the game there is no better way then buying packs of shards that you would otherwise have to use Cantina energy on.

The packs for cash are worth it, the packs that need crystals just suck!

If you just got them to 6*, it's going to be tough even if you buy the pack. There's only the one pack that gives you 50 shards each and you'd have to buy the rest for crystals in shipments/cantina.
Asuming you still need 100 shards each (200 total) and you buy the pack, that leaves you with 100 shards to get within 4 days (if you already spent today's cantina refresh it'll be a bit worse). So you'll have to get 25 shards per day.
5 Cantina refreshes (for a total of 700 crystals a day), the 45 energy bonus and 120 free energy gives you 745 cantina energy, which equals about 16 shards per day. Let's hope you're lucky and get 17 shards. Then you'll still have to buy another 8 shards in shipments each day (640 crystals).

The total cost for you to get them to 7* in time would therefore be:
Price for the pack
+ 5360 crystals (for cantina refreshes and shipments)

Obviously you'll have to decide for yourself, but I would NOT buy it.

Edit: Either I totally fucked up with my final advice, or autocorrect fucked me over (my device is not set to english). I did NOT want to advice to buy the pack, since personally don't want to support such obvious cash grabs. 80 bucks for one three characters (Vets+Rey) might be cheap for this game, but is still expensive considering how much you gain.

Jrey is specific, if you not going to run resistantance she not that great.

Well remember, can only buy it once, so unless you’re going to be close to 7*, then hold off.

I like them as toons myself, but if you’re not going to 7* them, Then IMO hold off.

Grind as hard as you can to get them to 50/100, if you do that in time buy it. If you don't, then don't. You've still got a few days, maybe you can get lucky on your drop rate.

That said, the pack is definitely worth the $30. It's a good value. It's just a matter of whether or not it's going to push you over the finish line.

it also depends on if it will "Make the difference" will it get you Rey? If not, save your money and farm them for next time.

Rey is great. She may not be as OP as CLS, but is definitely one of the better toons in the game. Despite so many people on here and reddit for some reason saying she is bad. You do need to run bb8 and r2 with her to really find success.

That's really only because the jury assumes that anything not as broken as CLS is automatically bad. She's a pretty good toon. She doesn't alter the game the same way CLS did, but she's pretty good and I have to admit that having both powered up hardly disappoints.
