If it still left you open for attack and didnt have any timers then maybe, but this undermines part of the challenge of arena. If we could have free trys when someone changes a team, it shortens their advantage of either something they have earned, bought or theory crafted.
IMO, people are asking for a practice mode more to play other teams and not necessarily fight the same arena opponents again and again.
