As people progress, they'll have squads powerful enough to complete last phase battles without any help from filled platoons. When they first introduced LS TBs, I couldn't even finish phase 5 battles with any of the squads I had. Now I have at least two squads that can finish phase 6 battles without much trouble. Same goes for the DS TB.
As an FTP/Dolphin guild, we'll never be able to fill last tier platoons, but at some point that will simply become unnecessary. And yes, people who are prepared to pay 200$ for a single character will and *should* get the benefit.
