Get used to it. This is how every special hero event works. You get speculation all over the map a month or so ahead of the event with intentionally vague info in the news from the devs. You don't get anything definitely until 2 weeks ahead of time. And it usually requires a very limited set of hero's that 90% of players have maybe one at 7 stars and a decent gear level. Then a day or two left they release special packs to push sales by impulse buyers trying to get ready. Then after it goes live they release a special pack for the new hero with credits and gear to get them to gear v. It's all geared for paying players. F2p basically have to do what they can to get ready and do what they can and hope they can at least get to the 5 star version. And then spend the next 2 months trying to beef up the required hero's for the next time it comes around. This is pretty much the model and it's geared toward generating sales because that's how they keep the game f2p not satisfying the actual f2p players. Every free mmo uses the same gimmick.
