Probably won't happen until after the legal issues around fantasy sports betting are settled in the U.S.
The outcome of that could have an effect on the videogame business. And since the fantasy sports sites spend a lot of money lobbying politicians, any victories they score could set precedents that work in favor of videogame publishers.
However, I have seen some news stories in the past about certain countries attempting to legally classify certain videogame mechanisms as being essentially internet casinos. If I remember correctly, one country tried to classify Diablo 3 as a casino.
I'm no lawyer though, so take it with a grain of salt. But I think fantasy sports will be getting a lot of attention for the next couple years, while freemium videogames stay below the radar.
