It's hard to correctly adapt your behaviour when the game doesn't offer you the possibility to analyze and predict the patterns.
The method and resource requirements of hard nodes has been the same since the game came out. It's really not hard to predict. Maybe hard for players to manage their own resource allocation to focus on the 'right' characters, instead of supplementing their other farms and then complaining when they didn't get the characters they actually want.2) All shipments are available for beginners, except for Fleet which unlocks at level 50. Reaching that level is a matter of days.Cantina is gated by level. GW is gated by roster. Arena is gated by roster/gear/mods. Guild and fleet are gated by shard rotation. And no, First Order is not a viable option for beginners. You won't be able to farm the team quickly enough to be able to Raid and earn gear. If you choose to go the First Order route as a beginner, you will not be able to raid until a few months, putting you at a severe disadvantageSo what? It's not like you can only farm 5 characters to 7*. It's not like those 5 characters all have to have synergy. FOST and FOTP are long and slow grinds, you can farm plenty of other characters in the meantime. Are you trying to tell me after 12 months of playing, you will only have 3 characters at 7* plus whatever you managed to get from hard nodes? So you can't both have a First Order team and a Raid team.Pretty sure after 12 months, you can manage a decent enough roster to tag raids with.If FOTP and FOST were available in shipments, new players could farm them to 7* quickly, and have a 7* FO team to raid with. It's not the best team, but it will still do damage and bring in gear.Still not seeing why it's so important that new players have FO squads to raid with. There are plenty of squads to choose from, they can even build 3/5 FO to begin with if they're determined to go FO.
Currently, it's just impossible to pick FO as a starting team merely because of that. Once again, not an opinion, but a fact. It is not viable to do so as a new player.3) Once again, this was not an opinion, but a fact. Based on the release cadence, the best toons are harder to farm, while those who serve a lesser purpose are made easy to acquire. Please take a look at what CG has done over the last few months. The facts are here, and you can't deny them. It's not a fact, it's a biased observation. Sure, new characters tend to be better and tend to be put on later nodes because they are empty. There are plenty of 'best' characters that are not harder to farm. Maul is one of the best characters, farmable from both fleet and GW, SA has a cantina node that can be farmed as many times as you want, DN had a marquee event so you could get him to 4* with very little effort. You're cherry-picking your data. You don't just log in and get a 7* Clone Sergeant. It is wrong. You have to dedicate energy towards that farm. Once again, farming a hard node is not fun or rewarding, it is tedious and doesn't require any effort. It is a fact. Don't pretend like SIM'ing the same battle every day for 1 year is thrillingActually, you have to spend that energy for your dailies. Doing the dailies themselves is rewarding, that's why we do them. For the rewards. The CS you get at the end represents your dedication to logging in each day and doing your dailies. Again, it's no-ones fault if you chose hard nodes to supplement your wiggs farm, instead of focusing on a unique character. That's how you chose to spend your reward and you were still rewarded, same as everyone else.
Again, you're simply taking facts and disagreeing with them, except there's nothing to disagree on.
It's currently impossible for NEW players to pick either First Order, Ewoks or Imperial Troopers because these teams will simply not be able to Raid until 5 of them are at 7*, which takes months.
I'm not talking about someone who has played the game for a year, mind you, but about someone who starts the game and isn't allowed to chose his favorite faction for no actual reason.
And please, stop saying that it's about me.
I couldn't care less about those characters.
Most of them I have no use of right now, and the others are relatively low on my priority list.
I only farmed Ewok Scout to 4* for the Flash events, which don't require gear.
I'm only farming FOST and FOTP, because we might have new FO toons in December. My grind will be long done by then. I'm not planning on using them, or gear/level them before I see what's coming in December.
But you know what I wanted to do when I started this account? I wanted to play First Order.
Not because they're good, but because they are a fun team to play, with very good synergy.
I actually named my in-game character FO Garbage Chute Cleaner.
But then I remembered that FO needed 2 hard farms, and that I therefore could not have a Raid team up before a very loooooong time.
So I went for rebels instead. I now easily rank in the top 20 AND have a very good Rancor team.
Is that what I wanted? No.
Was that the only solution to have a decent Arena, GW and Raid team as a new player? Yes.
The thing is, I never really got a choice. The devs made it for me when they didn't release FOTP and FOST outside of hard nodes.
And this is bad for a Star Wars game where the ultimate fantasy is to build the team you love.
