I believe the step up from wave 3 to wave 4 was a bit harsh. Seems like they simply left out the old waves 4+5. maybe a bit of a smoother progression might make sense. Also GP rewards for the waves seem a bit off. But overall I like having 4 rather than 6 waves.
I also think that the rebels special in phase 1 which you cannot deactivate are also fairly strong and empire special abilities through platoons are weaker in comparison. I would agree that we could see some adjustment there. But if they want to keep mirroring the battle that then means that LS TB will become tougher.
And of course there are still some bugs and glitches. I also think that getting that imperial droid will be extremely tough if we only have one DS TB per month and the character needed for that is not that useful (imperial troopers are not exactly the most popular faction). They might consider doubling the rewards here.
Other than that I think there is too much moaning about the difficulty. I prefer having 4 waves to 6 boring ones. Of course you need the proper toons and some strategy. But people started already complaining when they lost just 3 or so battles. How much time did they spend reading the abilities? How much thought went in their move order? Did they change mods? The team composition? Well, you simply cannot expect to walk through this without preparation like you might have done with a CLS or resistance team on LS TB.
Empire does well. I can clear wave 4 with all men standing with an empire team that is gear level 10.5. From what I heard Nightsisters also do well. That's already two factions that are able to finish those waves. Reward structure in terms of points is more beneficial than LS TB. People should not forget that they tend to have much more invested in rebels (CLS, Raid Han, double zeta'd R2, Chaze...) because that has been a favoured area of the game for a long time. Resistance with its unique mechanism is also an easy way to go through waves (as are likely NS but that is obviously less common so far). Phoenix has amazing staying power. DS is more challenging simply because for many it has not been a focus.
TL;DR: tune down the OP rebels special moves esp. in p1, smooth out the difficulty gap between wave 3 and 4 and overall difficulty should be fine. Nothing wrong with having a challenge
