Back when I played WOW it was apparent that the Alliance (ie Light side) was mostly kids and the Horde (ie Dark side) was mostly adults. I think this games uses that model in its delivery which is why light side is easy/free to farm and dark side is hard/expensive to farm. They know the adults wanting to play darkside are older and have money that the kids don't. For example Shoretrooper...first of the R1 release...hardest farm and still very expensive via crystals in shipments. Baze dropped to a cheap crystal price months ago.
