Has anyone worked out how much difference it makes just having everyone only deploy each phase and do nothing else? I'm just asking because my guild got impossible platoons and due to the increase ...

You can easily double your points by doing the battles if you have lower range rosters. Even if you have a huge roster, it can be a 50% increase.
What is your guild strength? Of the platoons really help THAT much, it sounds like your rosters aren't very deep.
