Ships is not fun, not least because look at the interface/how the battles are rendered: the ships just sit there.
You can accept that in squad battles, because during hand-to-hand combat (and even firearms combat) in real life, people really do stand still sometimes, waiting for a shift in stance, waiting for a move to counter, just observing the opponent's style and/or confidence.
Ships? Standing still? There's no jockeying for position behind someone? No flying evasively while being tailed? No dragging your tail across the sights of an ally?
There is literally nothing like ship combat involved in the video clips of ship combat in this game. They are having the ships **act like** persons instead of like fast-moving vessels.
on top of that, so much (as was said by Zombiwan_kenobi) is RNG. If you get 3 target locks in a row, then your Biggs is in good shape. If you don't (or get only one from Vader) then your Biggs gets chewed up. If a target lock lands before Biggs' first turn, you can use Biggs' special, do a bunch of damage, and get further ahead. If your first target lock is after Biggs' first turn, Biggs may very well die before the special comes off, and now you're down a tank that would have been much more survivable if you had had more Target Locks, but you're also down a lot of damage that could have been done before the ship was shot down.
Between these two scenarios, the strategy doesn't change, but RNG drastically changes the likely outcome.
Am I a game player or a button pusher who might as well be building Model Ts for Henry Ford?
I'm glad you win your battles easily but you don't seem to understand than actual fun isn't necessarily related to how easily you faceroll content (quite the opposite for some people tbh).
