I’m a 12 million level player but I’m asking this question. I’m maxing out crystals on the Great Mothers and it literally is dropping at less than 1-2 shards a day. I’m seriously considering dropping it because this is now a waste and I’m starting to wonder what is going on? Are others seeing this rate issue? Like I’m sitting at 20/85 and now thinking it’s just not worth it anymore, if SWGOH is messing with this…gosh I may need to be done. I’ve spent money over the years but this is insanity!

“Feel like that” sums it up pretty well. The reality is always extremely close to the 33% shard drop rate that’s been tracked and observed by hundreds of users before, regardless of what it feels like. I’ve played this game for 9 years and Drop Rate Complaint threads have been around for the entirety of my SWGOH career. And they’ve all got something in common: they don’t contain data, they contain “feels”. Confirmation Bias is a thing, and most of us struggle to remember the days when we get more drops than anticipated but the days when we get less are permanently etched into our memory. I tracked the drop rates on every character I farmed over many years and the drop rate over the duration of the farm ranged from 31% to 37% for absolutely all of them, with the overwhelming majority being 33%. If someone tracks their data and can demonstrate a reduced drop rate, then there’s a conversation to be had, but when all these threads contain is “feels” they’re just the same as all the previous threads of this nature.

The drop rate is the same for all characters and is the same as it has always been. OP is not right, and neither are you.

Sometimes they do seem weird. When I first started farming L3-37 the same thing would happen, I would spend max crystals for refresh on energy, and sometimes, not a single shard. But then I took a break from farming her to farm GBA and came back, and it’s dropping shards a lot more. Luck thing I would guess, but it is irritating.

GMs drop rate sucks. It’s not the same as other characters. But by know you should know CG does this stuff (throttling).

It really does feel like that sometimes. Kylo's command shuttle was an absolute misery to get, and current drop rates for Kneesa (trying to max out 3PO) are similarly paltry. There's the grind, and then there's slow-as-molasses drop rates.
