A couple things that people assume which is most likely not the case: that drop rates remain static and are fixed between players.

They have a large player base and with no published probabilities, they can and most likely tweak rates based on what they think will maximize their revenues. Like going to a website and seeing different prices on different days for different people.

Interesting, this is the sort of s h e n a n i g a n I wanted to detect. So far, I'm not seeing anything abnormal but then it might take a much larger sample.

What statistic are you using to analyse data? Do you have code and or datasets to share?
