Fix GAC!

I recently busted 3M GP because I bought upgrades. Today I am matched against someone with four GLs. I got ten banners.

This is like matching a peewee football team against the NFL, yes, the numbers, exactly like that.

Don't give me any, "The system is fair." crap, because it is clearly quite broken.

Don't give me any, "Fix your roster." crap, because I have a good roster. If I spent 100K today, I wouldn't be able to compete with that.

IT IS BROKEN, and WE ARE BEING CONNED.
  • What I would say about this, about moving up, under no circumstances should I be matched with that. Sure, it is better than it was, matching wins with wins, but again, the very best peewee football team shouldn't be playing the very worst NFL team under any circumstances.

Playing in high school, we ran over the top of teams way over ten times our size. We could do that, and we did, but they were still in our same league, where we could possibly still lose, and due to crooked calls, eventually did. I expect there to be some injustice in any system. But this system isn't even like us playing against the little kids, or even the colleges playing against the little kids, but like the little kids playing against the giant professionals.

Sure, the system is better, which shows just how darn awful it was before.

I do sometimes win. I have had exactly one week where I was matched with people somewhat close to skill level, and I lost that one too, because I was still over powered by someone twice my strength, but at least it was possible.

The times I have won have been because of no shows.

"The system is better than it was." doesn't sit well with me. It is clearly quite broken.
  • Well...too bad bro. You're just gonna have to deal with it. If your opponent has 4 gls and is facing your 3mil gp account, chances are they won't even bother attacking because they clearly don't participate enough.
  • It's PvP, they don't care about PvP other than what you spend time resources and money on.

There should be "some" matchmaking related to GP, but not to the excess it was in the first version. And if you're over 10 mil GP you should be facing someone with 2-3 mil GP even if you're in carbonite.

They'll get to that in 2035ish, maybe 2034 if we're lucky.
  • I wound up winning the whole thing, got bumped up 5 levels, a lot more crystals and other goodies until I start losing because ALL of my opponents will be way stronger than me.

It just isn't any fun to not have an opponent, or one that might play one round per game and throw the brackets and banners off.

And it can matter. One week, I won the first two battles and then got placed against someone who only won one battle. Apparently, lots of people didn't fight every time. I lost the last round, but I still had more banners total because I played every round, and we both wound up with two wins. I get that my opponent won the final round, but got there with only one win.

The thing is just screwy. It would be more fun to actually have to play for the win, you know, through strategy, which I did get to do in the final round, and in the first round. I really had to think, because I was quite outmatched, just not so obscenely so.

That guy played one round, or I wouldn't have gotten him on the second round. It means he pummeled someone that didn't stand a chance.
  • Whenever you come up against a much broader and stronger roster, that’s a great opportunity to learn and try out tactics and combinations- for you; the other guy gets nothing from an asymmetrical win apart from the banners - so what? Try not to get too hung up on winning.

My last GAC round was lopsided - against a much bigger roster (>10m gp, 6GLs, GI etc etc). The final score was of course a win to him but it was close (c 1644 v 1611 I think). I enjoyed it way more than rounds where I won by a big margin.

Try not to get frustrated & enjoy yourself a bit more. It’s all meant to be fun
